About Me
Hello, my name is Alexis Griffin (formerly Alexis Wanner). I was born and raised in Fargo, ND. I am pursuing a degree in Mathematics Education with a minor in Special Education. I graduated from Fargo Shanley in 2018. I am the oldest of seven and love spending time with my family and friends! I got married in December of 2021 to an incredible man who inspires me to give myself selflessly to my students every day!

I have wanted to become a teacher since I was in elementary school. As I progressed through the grades, I was able to see how profound of an impact teachers can make when they support students through the various ups and downs of their lives. I hope to provide students with the resources and support they need to succeed, meeting each student where they are. I strive to help each student have a "lightbulb" moment where a concept is finally grasped after a long-winded effort struggling to understand the content. I love seeing the confidence and pride that is instilled in each student from their hard work.

Math is a difficult subject and I want to help students learn to confidently approach the concepts which are presented. I desire to help my students learn how to think critically, problem solve, and use mathematics to help them achieve their goals. I also see the unique, diverse needs of every student where they are at and want to meet them as best as I can. By pursuing a minor in Special Education I am learning how to meet students at their level and how to provide support and tools to help them succeed- not just in the Special Education classroom, but the general education classroom as well.
