45 in-class hours | 7th & Accelerated 7th Grade Math -Designed and taught four lessons: one technology integrated lesson on practical applications of the Pythagorean Theorem, one data-based lesson on writing and solving proportions, and a two-day lesson plan on circles, pi, circumference, and area -Monitor student progress via pre- and post-assessments for data-driven lesson -Utilized interactive game online to engage students in uses of the Pythagorean Theorem -Adjusted lesson based on individual students' needs -Participated in Professional Development and 7th Grade team PLC meeting where we discussed how to better group students to increase their collaborative skills Lessons: |

Diversity Practicum - Spring 2021 and Fall 2021Dr. Mike Taylor - St. Ann's Mission and School, Belcourt
30+ in-class hours | Spring 2021 -Collaboratively planned with Dr. Mike Taylor to establish a relationship with St. Ann's Mission and School -Attended and led the inaugural and second trips from UMary -Assisted teachers to provide individualized support during independent work time -Distributed food donations from Feeding America to families in need at their homes -Led basketball and soccer clinic for students -Rode along on the bus ride home to drop off students after day and engaged in conversation about the reality of the community in which they live -Assisted in liturgies with students and their families in the community (Mass, Stations of the Cross, etc.) -Modified activity plans to accommodate students with special needs UMary students on first ever trip to St. Ann's Mission and School

-Designed and taught a lesson which led students on a nature hike throughout the park exploring the complex landscape of North Dakota and the Native American Essential Understandings of Storytelling, Generosity, and Sacred Relatives
-Collaboratively planned with group members to create five lessons to teach students about Native American life and games, landscape, life at Fort Lincoln and history of General Custer, Native Scouts, and the Post Cemetery

45 in-class hours | Algebra I & AB Calculus -Designed and taught two lessons via flipped classroom on: how to solve compound inequalities and how to write a function rule as an equation from words using Cornell notes and an exit ticket for assessment -Assessed students in the form of exit tickets to monitor understanding of content -Modeled resilience to students and provided support amidst the challenge of hybrid learning due to COVID-19 -Tutored students in challenging curriculum during independent work time -Learned how to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of students from various cultures, low-SES backgrounds, and working to provide accommodations for students on IEPs to allow for accessible learning Lesson:UMary Day of Service - 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 |
